On 26 October 2018, history enthusiasts gathered at the Brest Regional Museum of Local Lore for the 9th session of the museum project “Block 18.” Longtime Brest resident Vladimir Gubenko spoke to the audience about “The Streets of My Childhood.” Along the walls of the hall, a travelling exhibition — “Brest in the Drawings of Vladimir Gubenko” — was on display, depicting the city as it looked in the early and mid-twentieth century.
